This Simple Space Will Make Your Back-to School Transition Easy

Mudrooms:  The easiest space to create in your home to make the back-to-school transition SO easy!

Backpacks.  Lunchboxes.  Sports bags.  Jackets.  Cleats.  Dance shoes.  Hats.  Water bottles.  Purses.  Once all of these items come into the house, where do they go?  On beds, under beds, on couches, on tables, and more!  Having a landing space for your entire family to keep their commonly used items will be a lifesaver as everyone gets back to the hustle and bustle of back to school!  Here are a few amazing benefits you can bring into your home simply by adding a mudroom:

  1. Having a landing space for everyone's items.

Mudrooms will decrease clutter in the house when everyone is able to know where everything is, be able to access all daily items at one time, and easily see if everything is accounted for for the next day.

2. Help keep your carpets and floors clean.

Mudrooms keep dirt from shoes and cleats stay in a confined area and smells from sports bags from traveling into the house.  Papers from backpacks don't get unpacked on the kitchen table and sports equipment stays in bags and not spread out in a bedroom.

3. Create healthy habits for organizing commonly used items.

In an organized mudroom, pet items have a designated place, encouraging frequent use for your four-legged friends.  They also create a drop space for daily use while keeping items in sight.  Everything gets used more if its seen!  For school aged kids, lunch boxes out and visible help the odds against them collect food and mold inside a backpack.

4. Free up your weekends from daily necessities.

Who wants to clean clutter on the weekend?  Having a mudroom to organize daily necessities during the week lightens the workload of cleaning and organizing on the weekends.

5. Have storage space for extra items.

Do you have items you need on rare occasions, needs to keep in good shape, but don't really know where to store them?  Cold weather items like large jackets, ski clothes, riding gear, and more can all find storage areas in a custom mudroom.  Rainy weather items,

occasional sports items, and beach gear are more items that can be easily stored away until needed.
